On Saturday 18th October, we held our 5th annual fundraiser at The Tytherington Club. Given the time of year what else could the theme be but Halloween!
Karen Keen, Project Manager said, “We look forward to this event each year. It is an important event as far as fundraising is concerned but it is also a wonderful opportunity to celebrate what SUSO has done throughout the year and most importantly what our dropper-inners have achieved”
And celebrate we did! Dropper-Inners, family and guests all came together to party – Halloween style! There were some amazing and some very scary outfits – people certainly looked Spooktacular! Local MP David Rutley came to the first part of the evening to join in the celebrations and he spoke about the hard work of everyone at SUSO –dropper-inners, volunteers and staff, and the impact SUSO has made in the wider community.
People sat down to a beautiful 3 course meal then we partied the night away to spellbinding music from DJ John The Sheriff. Local businesses and supporters of SUSO donated lots of gifts for the tombola and raffle plus lots of fab prizes for people to bid on in the silent auction.
Because of these donations and support on the night, We raised a fantastic £2522. SUSO would like to thank everyone for their generous support either with donations or coming along – it is very important to them and much appreciated.
One of our regular Dropper-Inners, Sarah Buckley, told us “It was great, great fun on the night. We dressed up. The best part was winning the painting of a cat, music lessons and prizes on the tombola. We saw David Rutley and he was talking to us and other people. He said a few words. It’s important to raise money for here (SUSO) we can put it in the bank.”
