November started with for a high for everyone at SUSO following the success of our Annual fundraiser. The theme for the month was ‘Take Notice in November’ and Take Notice we did. Firstly came bonfire night and  we all learned about why we celebrate the 5th of november with the story of Guy Fawkes and his famous gunpowder plot. We also got to experiment making our own fireworks in a jar which looked fantastic. Next we had parliament week a group of us where lucky enough to be involved with EMPOWER training with Gary Hunt a programme which  aims to empower and enable adults with learning disabilities and enhance their understanding of how parliament works to empower them to be involved with political decisions. Everyone who took part really enjoyed themselves and learned a lot of important and interesting information.

We have also been looking at our SUSO skills with work shops and activities around money skills, delivering our own workshops and developing our reading. We also had our monthly committee meeting where the SUSO christmas meal was voted on and decided by everyone. We have had a lot going on in november and we have all definitely taken notice of a lot of different things.

Now we can look forward to ‘ Decking the Halls’ in December, hope to see you all soon !!
