Our open day was very successful with many of our regular dropper-inners turning up and most importantly some new faces attended and got to learn about the fantastic activities and people that we have here at SUSO.
The theme for the drop in this month was Celebrating SUSO which all the dropper-inners got involved with and worked very hard by creating a fantastic and colourful display board celebrating their unique skills and qualities. Everyone who attended the open day were really impressed with the work on display.
We were delighted to be joined by Town Mayor Beverley Dooley, her presence was really appreciated and the dropper – inners loved being able to try on the official chain.
We had a free raffle and a mystery bottle tombola, which Sarah one of our dropper – inners kindly helped to run. We also had a ray of delicious cakes and refreshments for all those who attended.
Megan our Five ways to well-being coordinator at SUSO said ‘We are really proud of what we have here at SUSO, we offer a warm and welcoming environment for people with learning disabilities, a place where people can join in with fun activities and social, but most importantly a place people can just belong’.
